Oct 2016 - This smasher is back. It's in the lobby of the Museum so paid admission is NOT required to access this smasher.

Since we don't use pennies anymore in Canada, the machine use a penny sized 'blank' that is nickel coloured. Cost is $1.00.

The penny smasher is near the Nonsuch exhibit and paid admission is required to access this penny smasher.
The design on the smashed penny is a picture of the Nonsuch (a replica of a 17th century ketch that is on display at the museum) as well as the words Nonsuch & The Manitoba Museum. (visit link )
