Mosaics with Greek symbols Alpha and Omega evidently hints at important statements in Bible. E.g. in the Book of Revelation 22:13 is statement - "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." These statements are extremely important to Christianity not only because they represent this eternal nature, but also because they show Jesus and the Holy Spirit have always been one and present with God.
Just this motif is depicted above the side entrance doors into Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul on famous Prague's hill - Vysehrad. Author of the mosaics is well-known Prague's painter, graphic designer, sculptor and medal maker Lumír Šindelár (1925-2010).
