I attempted to count these stairs three times....came up with 67, 69 and 70. I guarantee there are a lot. I'll use an average number: 68.
When you visit these stairs, you will note they are separated by a road; that is, when you park in the lower parking lot, you climb 44 stairs, cross the driveway, then immediately start climbing the other half of the stairs, about 26 more steps. I did not count the stair landings as steps, and there are several of those. You will need them, for resting up before you tackle the next group of stairs. They are pretty steep! Use the handrail! And look around, so you spot the famous "Hollywood" sign after you reach the top!
