The ruins of the Porešín castle lie on the rock above the valley of the Malše river, about 560 m a.s.l., about 5 km north of the town Kaplice, not far from the village of the same name.
The castle was built in the 13th century by Bavor III of Strakonice. Its existence was short lived - at the beginning of the 15th century it had already been destroyed.
The remains of the tower and part of the walls of the palace have been preserved up till now.
The ruins can be found on the green marked path about 1 km away from the village Porešín (on the road Ceský Krumlov - Besednice) or on the blue marked trail leading from Kaplice (6 km) or from the village Rímov (about 15 km).
