I was at the sign for the church checking the times for the services and from there I could see this white pole in the middle of the court yard. When I got closer I could see it was a Peace Pole and all I could think to say was WOW! Two of the eight sides are in English, MAY PEACE BE IN OUR HOMES AND COMMUNITY and MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH.
(The Lakota (also Teton, Tetonwan, Teton Sioux) are a Native American tribe. They are part of a confederation of seven related Sioux tribes (the Oceti Sakowin or seven council fires) and speak Lakota, one of the three major dialects of the Sioux language.)
