Airfoil by Patrick Marold
This fourth “airfoil” is installed in front of the Denver School of Science and Technology at 2000 Valentia Street, on permanent loan to the school from The Park Creek Metropolitan District. The kinetic “airfoils” fashioned from salvaged 737 horizontal tail stabilizers speak to the past and future definitions of Northfield and Stapleton and to the mission of sustainability. The 16' (4.8 m) high sculpture reflects the sky on their surface and the wind in its movement. (from (

Denver's Stapleton neighborhood is a large redevelopment of Denver's former Stapleton International Airport which was demolished when Denver opened Denver International Airport several miles north and east of this location. This piece is illuminated at night with power from the solar panels on the upper portion of the piece.
It is hard to video the movement of the piece since it is an airfoil shape that stays parallel to the wind.
