The public house is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Joseph Buck the lock keeper who being a popular local character drowned in his own lock in 1898 [possibly after a few too many drinks!!]
a poltergeist is also believed to exist in the bar this first started almost a decade ago, when the staff were cleaning up after the public had left, and a salt and pepper pot was seen to fly off the shelf and land on the floor. similar peculiar occurencies with noises and the feeling of an unseen presence have been experienced.
