Fox Indian sculptures are located outside the Bolingbrook Nature Center as part of the history of the area. The sculpture consists of four Indians in various poses. The sculptures are made from scrap metal.
A plaque next to the sculpture reads: FOX INDIANS We hunted and farmed here until the early 1800s. This river-edge savanna provided a good home for us, with plenty of food and shelter. Our ancestors had arrived more than 14,000 years earlier, following mammoths, mastodons and other big game from Siberia. We stayed until treaties with the US government finally moved us off this land.
