The plaque reads "A memorial to all those who protect us. Throughout our history, public safety employee have served to protect our way of live.
This memorial stands in recognition of all those who put their well being in peril every time they respond to a fire or police alarm.
The metal beam from the New York World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is a reminder of the supreme sacrifice public safety workers may be asked to make.
The city of Vacaville a place of peace gives tribute to all public safety workers, past, present and future, who have committed to serve and protect the city of Vacaville and our nation."
