Westport's station no longer has a station agent selling tickets -- you have to buy them from a machine, or be prepared to pay more on the train.
There are amenities, though. There is a building that you can wait inside when it's cold. The local public library (which is also a Waymarking waypoint) has set up a rack for paperback books you can just take if you want something to read on the train. And the Norwalk Transit District runs shuttle buses from the station to various points in town.
And all around the station are not only the kinds of utilitarian businesses you might expect to find -- newsstands, coffee shops, etc. -- but boutiques, art galleries, and several excellent restaurants.
The sign on the station building says "Westport Saugatuck," although the other signage and the timetables just say "Westport." This part of Westport is called "Saugatuck"; it's on the west bank of the Saugatuck River, whereas the main downtown area is on the east bank and farther upstream. So that's where the extra name comes from.
