Puvodní Trckuv zámek z 16. století prebudovala Kolowratská vrchnost na pivovar, který provozovala puvodne sama, pozdeji prostrednictvím nájemcu.
V roce 1918 zakoupil od Kolowratu pivovar Jan Mikeš a od základu jej zmodernizoval. Mikšuv pivovar v Rychnove n. Kn. patril mezi nejlepší pivovary stredne velkého typu, s rocním výstavem 15000 hl. piva. Pivovar byl znárodnen na jare roku 1948 a v roce 1962 byla výroba piva zrušena, když veškeré, i v této dobe moderní technologické zarízení bylo z objektu odstraneno. Poté byl objekt prebudován na sodovkárnu.
V roce 1993 byl provoz sodovkárny spolu s objektem ve znacne zchátralém stavu vrácen v rámci restituce rodine Mikšových a v soucasné dobe vnuk JUDr. Jan Mikš nadále provozuje výrobu nápoju. Od roku 2004 pak soucasný vlastník provádí celkovou rekonstrukci objektu a vrací budovu bývalého pivovaru do puvodního stavu pred jeho devastací za éry komunismu. V soucasné dobe je již rekonstrukce ukoncena a celý areál objektu slouží nejenom k vlastní výrobe, ale i k porádání ruzných kulturních akcí ve spolupráci s mestem Rychnov nad Knežnou
