The Kemmerer Main Post Office is a well-preserved example of early-1930s post office design in the Neo-classical mode. With the exception of the addition of an entry porch in the northwest corner (1942), the building is essentially unaltered from its original design. The design represents the transition from the Beaux-Arts inspired design of the early-1900s to the "Starved Classical" designs of the mid- to late-1930s.
