The central building to both photographs is the Tioga Hotel. The The Tioga Hotel is at 275 N. Broadway. This structure is reported to be the tallest building on the Oregon Coast. It has an interesting build history. Construction was first started in 1925. Several attempts to complete it were disrupted by first the Great Depression and then by World War Two. The building was finally finished in 1948. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 as the Marshfield Hotel this neo-classical building is 9 stories tall and reaches 113 feet at its highest above the street. The building has since been remodeled in 1995 to provide housing for seniors. Source: Emporis
