Donnellys - Idaho Springs, CO - Stained Glass Windows on Waymarking.com

I have not seen stained glass used in this manner in a mining town in Colorado. While the signage is small, the workmanship is excellent. The stained glass is set in a glass-block 'lintel' (for lack of a better term) that allowed light into the store and 'set-off' the stained glass work.

The plaque reads:

During the early years of this century, a thriving grocery business occupied this site. H. W. Larroway, a grocer, was here during the 1890s and fnally D. J. Donnelly sold his store in Lawson and bought out Larroway in 1911.
