This spot marks where Colonel James Mayson and his wife Henrietta was reinterred by the Star Fort Chapter, D.A.R. on July 7, 1939. Their remains were removed from the family cemetery, Glasgow Plantation on Saluda River.

COLONEL JAMES MAYSON EARLY AMERICAN JURIST AND REVOLUTIONARY SOLDIER AND HIS WIFE HENRIETTA HART WERE HERE REINTERRED BY STAR FORT CHAPTER, D.A.R. ON JULY 7, 1939. THEIR REMAINS WERE REMOVED FROM THE FAMILY CEMETERY, GLASGOW PLANTATION ON SALUDA RIVER.
