This very worn historical marker is located in a small park on Highway 77, just as the road forks, west to Purcell or south to Lexington. The park has two historical markers, a memorial honoring a fallen veteran, and a pavilion. Parking is on the south side in a gravel lot, next to the church.

Run of '89 South Boundary
Canadian River was south line of "Old Oklahoma" opened by Run, at 12 o'clock noon April 22, 1889. Riders started at river, crossing near here. Many thousands entered the 2,000,000 a. tract north homes were planted and tent cities sprang up before nightfall.
