Depicted in the comic strip is a 10-foot tall 2-dimensional gas station attendant. Based on a photo posted on the RoadsideAmerica.com website, the gas station attendant used to be painted blue and white (visit link). He's now bright yellow and red and has the name of the current business painted on his shirt.

The former BP station is located on the US 52 bypass (also known as the Andy Griffith Parkway) in Mount Airy, North Carolina.
