The Pool of Siloam is 7 times saltier than the ocean and is regarded as having special "curative" properties.
The bible mentions the pool of Siloam as the place where Jesus told a blind man to wash his eyes, which he did and then regained his vision.
The given coordinates were taken from the end of the jetty.
John 9:5-7:
As long as I am in the world,( I am the light of the world." Having said these things, he spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" . So he went and washed and came back seeing.
