The athletic complex of the Foro Italico include an impressive array of black and white mosaics, with mythological content, sport games, and references to ancient Rome and contemporary Rome of the Fascist Era.

In one panel, an army truck can be seen with the text "W Mussolini" in mosaic form. After the end of World War II, in a general movement of removing all references, symbols, and images representing the Fascist regime, it was decreeded that the mosaics of the Foro Italico be saved and preserved for its historical and artistical importance.
