Unveiled in 2007 this statue of Laurence Olivier stands outside the National Theatre which he created in 1963.
The plaques beneath commemorate the life of Larry and the donors who made this statue reality.
The plaques read:

More than two hundred, mainly theatre and film people and institutions,
contributed to the Laurence Olivier Centenary Statue Appeal made by his
son Tarquin, who said -
"Larry was true. He was exciting, Gloriously funny, and is
still part of what makes life worth living, as is his creation
the National Theatre."
The principle contributors were -
Individuals : Lord Attenborough CBE, Dave Clark, Dame Judi Dench CH,
Mrs Laurence Evans,..........
..........and the people of Dorking where Olivier was born.
Institutions : The Garrick Club, the Central School of Speech and Drama,
National Theatre Foundation.........
..and Granada Ventures who also gave permission to use the image of Hamlet
taken from his 1948 film to which they have the performing rights.
This statue was unveiled on 23rd September 2007,
by Richard Attenborough and members of the original company.
