Farnsworth Hatchery was built to provide a source of trout in Allegheny National Forest Streams. The Hatchery was completed in 1941 and was one of the last projects of Camp ANF-13. The camp was shut down in 1941 and reworked to serve as a German POW camp from 1942 through 1946.
Today the fish hatchery continues to operate under the management of the Farnsworth Trout Club and continues to provide trout for local streams. The CCC-built cabin is being renovated for use as a rental facility.
