Mesker Park Zoo is a nice regional sized zoo. It cannot be confused with an elite zoo, but for a city the size of Evansville, it is very nice.
Mesker opened in its current location in 1930.
Some of the highlights of the zoo are Donna the Hippo, Amazonia Rain Forest, lions, giraffes, and a rhino.
