The pit underneath may have been excavated and filled, but this outhouse stands behind the farmhouse at this Texas State Historical Park. The door opens and a look inside confirms it was a two holer, complete with seat covers and (corncobs in the corner).
Location: Settled by the Sauer family in 1869, it was acquired by the Beckmann family in 1900. In 1966 a family member sold it to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. After much research, the TPWP restored the farm to how it appeared in 1918. The privy was located directly behind the house near the chicken coop.
