This building proudly states it is the FEDERAL BUILDING. The first Federal Building was built in Glenwood Springs to house the U. S. Post Office and the U. S. Land Office. Colorado Representative Taylor, a member of the House Appropriations Committee was influential in securing funds for this project.

It now houses the White River National Forest offices.
