Mission Concepcion was moved to San Antonio in 1731 and is one of the best conserved and preserved of the five historic Spanish missions for which San Antonio is so famous. Some of the original 200+ year old frescos are still visible inside the convento. This mission is located at 807 Mission Road, where it intersects with Felisa Street. The orientation table is along the sidewalk that connects the public parking area to the entrance into the mission compound. The bronze model of the mission helps a visitor orient themselves to where the parts of the mission are that would be most interesting to them. It also gives a visitor an idea of the scale of the mission property and allows them to notice any objects or separated buildings they may otherwise overlook. This table is not too complicated. The rock quarry used to build the walls of this mission is to the left of the orientation table, near a few oak trees. That is easy to overlook unless you notice it on the orientation table.
Location / Access: North of the parking lot, along the sidewalk that leads to the mission's entrance.
