In 2005, the Rotary International celebrated its centennial of service to the local community. Not only did the Rotary International place a large plaque nearby at the Columbus Public Library (WMA9ZC), but the local chapters of the Rotary also placed a separate marker dedicated to the library in celebration of the Rotary Internationals 100 years of service. This marker is a small, square metal plaque at the edge of a landscaped border area around the corner of the library, close to the larger marker placed similarly by the Rotary International. This local chapter's plaque reads, "If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need. Cicero / Dedicated to the Colubus Public Library / February 24, 2005 by / Columbus Rotary, East Columbus Rotary, Muscogee Rotary / In celebration of Rotary International's centennial year." This dedication is found in the northeast corner of the library, near where the perimeter sidewalk surrounding the library building meets the sidewald going out to the parking area. Not sure if this is really a garden area, but it does have aesthetically pleasing landscaping surrounding it.
