This marker placed by the early day settlers is one of four at the entrance to Mineral Wells Park. The park is a very woodsy area, with numerous recreational facilities for families: duck pond, basketball court, tennis courts, children's playground, pavilion, and many picnic benches.
Mineral Wells Park is just south of Guthrie's historic/business district. It is on Division about a mile south of Highway 33 (Noble).

Mineral Wells Park
(Formerly called Island park) is the most historical park in Oklahoma. In this park the celebration of Statehood was held Nov. 16, 1907, at which time Guthrie was designated the Capitol of Oklahoma.
