Inside the church is a leaflet all about the church. A copy is pinned to the notice board. There were originally two bells which were recast as one in 1858. But the present bell by J Warner and son, London, dates from 1911. It is inscribed, "Come hither, sing praise and rejoice."
The church was originally a chapel of ease for St. Bees Priory dating from 16th century. The bell is a modern addition, in Victorian times. The north aisle was added in 1830 and fixtures were salvaged from a fire damaged York Minster in 1829.
