In 1829 after a fire in York Minster, the lectern, pulpit and oak panelling were salvaged and brought here. By the main entrance is a stone font. A square basin on a short pedestal with a decorated cover.

The font is described as modern. The north aisle was added in about 1830, with money donated by Mr Stansfield Rawson, whose wife donated the font in 1855. The Rawsons built Wasdale Hall, now a Youth Hostel. This information is in the church leaflet available in the church and pinned to the notice board inside.

Approximate Age of Artefact: donated 1855
