A direct descendant of "The Lone Pine" of Gallipoli Fame.


This monument honours those who served.

 

The tree was planted on 1st March 1988 by the City Of Parramatta Sub Branch of the RSL and was dedicated on 27th July 1993 by Brig. Alf Garland, the RSL National President.

 

The bricks on which the plinth stands were originally part of the English home of Governor Captain Arthur Phillip and were donated by Geoffrey Cottee.

The sandstone for the plinth was originally part of Parramatta's 2nd Government House and was donated by William Matthews.
