At Ponta do Espigão Amarelo. (Yellow Point), half way along the sea cliff trail from Porto da Cruz to Boca do Risco is a stone block. This stone, painted black and white, is an obvious waymark, a Portuguese geodetic marker.

This scenic spot offers great views along the north east coast to Ponta do São Lourenço. You can even see the natural arch in Ilhéu do Guincho. This spot is a great lunch spot if you can convince your stomach to stop doing flips because of the exposure, 100ft down to the sea, along this superb hike.
