This marker is along the Battle Road trail, but the hill itself is at the west corner of the intersection of Bypass Rd and Lexington Rd (Rte 2A), and so is in Lincoln. Regardless, here, 15 miles from Boston, at 12:45 PM:
"Here at Brooks Hill 'a sharp action' took place as Colonists fired upon the British troops from both sides of the road. Minute and militia men arriving from Sudbury and Framingham attacked the British column from the other (south) side of the road, while those joining the fight from Chelmsford and Billerica cross the farming fields and fired at the British from this side."

Visit Instructions:
When logging a Massachusetts Historic Marker, we ask that you not only describe your visit, but to upload a picture from it. The picture does not have to be of the marker - one picture of the marker is enough. But a photo of you standing next to the marker or a photograph the subject of the marker - those are examples of possible photographs to upload.
