Veterans Park is located at Elm Street and Veterans Drive, a block south of the main street of Jenks. This is a 19-acre park that was an official project for Jenks' 2005 Centennial Celebration.
The land is rolling with many open grass areas, as well as playground equipment, a large picnic pavillion, walking and bike trails and restrooms. There is a very nice war memorial, and the beginnings of a lovely arboretum. The south side of the park borders on a casting pond with fishing docks. Free fishing clinics are given by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife in the late Spring and Summer. These are 2-hour clinics teaching conservation, knot tying, casting and fish identification. The clinics include one hour of fishing time.
Many local events take place at this park, and it will become more and more beautiful as the newly planted trees mature. The pavilion can be reserved for family, church and organizational gatherings. Future plans for the park include an amphitheater and recreational trail.
