This is the last surviving Quonset Hut of a great number that originated in this location from WW2. The site being the former Pyrotechnics Section of the Maribyrnong Munitions Complex. The site is now the student village complex.

The Pyrotechnic section of the Maribyrnong munitions complex, was established late in the Second World War.
Pyrotechnics involved the production of flairs, tracer rounds smoke grenades an other forms of explosive compounds.
Many buildings including a number of Quonset Huts were built on this site.
This is the only remaining here today and is currently used as a multi purpose stage in the student village.
