Just to the west of another wood carving of an owl, this carving likewise is carved from a tree trunk standing in-place as it grew. The carving is approximately 10 ft. high and stands behind a row of condominiums at the Benchmark. The carving can easily be seen through a wrought iron fence on 91st Street, just west of Yale Ave.
The eagle is shown in full wing spread, with one wing pointing to the ground and the other to the sky, to appropriately use the tree trunk available.
