Below the Hatchments is a descriptive article about them and to whom they belong:

'Hatchments were part of the funeral furniture of the landed gentry of the mid 19th century. The Cooper Cooper family were Lords of the Manor of Toddington and considered this transept to be their private mausoleum. Hatchments would be hung here after being displayed over the entrance to the Manor House and the year of family mourning had ended.
