The three LARGE butterfly's are found on large rocks along the Clear Creek River path. They are quite noticeable and sturdy. Since butterfly's are quite delicate, it is odd to see them made of heavy bronze.
The pieces were part of Rotary International's 100th Anniversary Celebration worldwide. Golden's Rotary Club asked what they could contribute to the City of Golden. A small amphitheatre was built along the Clear Creek path along with these sculptures. The artist is Pat Madison and the pieces were installed in 2005.
