Theater Roxy opened in 1994 in the location of the former cinema Roxy. The first years it was managed and operated by amateurs. After some years (their web site does not state exactly when) they started receiving a yearly subsidy from the canton Basel-Land and could afford to hire professionals for technics and management.
They concentrate on independent productions in the fields of theater and dance. They do not have an ensemble of their own.
