Physical Address: Rua do Penedo Furado Foz do Arelho, Leiria Portugal 2500
Description of Postcard Location: The Penedo Furado was carved in geological formations consisting of a sequence of sandstones that vary in grain size from medium- to coarse-grained, locally very coarse-grained with occasional coarse gravel and large rounded pebbles. The silty matrix is often unseen in the latter facies type. Throughout the outcrop there is clear alternation between finer and coarser facies types and the occurrence of trough cross bedding is common.
