Plaque Reads:
The U.S. Army at Fort Carson donated this M60 Patton Main Battle Tamk to the Bruce McCandless State Vetrans Home in honor of its 30th Anniversary on April 6, 2006.

The M60 series was engineered with enhancements for
increased operational range and mobility as well as improved
fire control. Produced by Chrysler beginning in 1959, these
tanks were eqipped with a diesel engine, 750 hp. and a
105mm cannon giving them a maximum speed of 30 mph and
a fire range of 350 miles. Manned by a four-man crew, M60
series tanks were used in multiple areas of operation in
Vietnam and Desert Storm. Chrysler built over 15,000 M60
tanks before production ended in 1983. The last M60 series
tanks were retired in the United Styates' military force structure
in May 1997.
