The "Bastion" is on the back lawn of the BC Parliament buildings. It is a permanent monument with the names of all of BC's fallen officers. It was unveiled on the last Sunday of September 2004

The memorial contains 94 names of BC and Federal police and peace officers who have died in the line of duty in the Province of British Columbia and the colonies before it became a Province of Canada. The officers are randomly listed on 8 panels of the Bastion and date from the mid 1800's.
In Canada, memorial services are held on the last Sunday of September to honour the fallen officers who have died while in the service of the country and its citizens.
