Osygyehyang is a vegan restaurant associated with the Buddhist Supreme Master Ching Hai. Apparently there are other restaurants connected with him in other parts of Asia. There is a newer Osegyehyang in another part of Seoul that features a buffet style.

It's easy to miss this restaurant since it is at the end of a narrow alley off of one of the main streets of Isadong. The wide street is pedestrian only (almost) and on a busy weekend is literally shoulder-to-shoulder with tourists, both Korean and foreign.

The food is vegan, prepared in the spiritual traditions of Buddhist philosophy, with literature provided. So, it is a great place, not only to have good vegan fair, but to experience the tranquility of temple.

There are several other well-known vegetarian restaurants in Insadon, the best know being, perhaps, Sanchon, which has an even more temple-like setting and atmosphere.
