Lady Mary Fitzroy was the wife of Sir Charles Fitzroy, the Governor of the Colony of New South Wales between 1846 and 1855. In December of 1847 Lady Mary and Charles Masters, the governor's Aide de camp, were thrown from a carriage and killed while Sir Charles suffered leg injuries in the accident.
