Statue of former Mayor of Albuquerque, Harry E. Kinney. The statue rests on the grounds of the Harry E. Kinney Civic Center Plaza in downtown Albuquerque. The Plaza was named for the former mayor. The outdoor plaza holds many events such as fairs and concerts.

Harry E. Kinney (1924 – May 9, 2006) was Mayor of Albuquerque for two terms, from 1974--77 and 1981--1985, as well as Chairman of the City Commission from 1971--1973. Before entering politics, he worked as an engineer; after his retirement from public life, he was a substitute teacher in the Albuquerque public schools. He also drover a taxi for a while after his term in office.[1].
