Located at the New Jersey Naval Museum in Hackensack, New Jersey, the U.S.S. Ling is a Balao-class submarine that was decommissioned in 1946 and placed in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet. The sub had been commissioned in 1942 and launched in 1943. She received one battle star for World War II service.
In 1960, the sub was transferred to the Brooklyn Navy Yard and used as a training ship. In 1972, she was donated to the Submarine Memorial Association and then brought to its current location in 1973. The Naval Museum is currently looking for a new location.
The ship is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Museum is open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
