Located in the garden is an area for growing vegetables, fruit and herbs. There is a wooden gate entrance and a small poly-tunnel. The garden is being developed and is for ever changing with the seasons.
The garden is open to school groups to learn about growing plants. The children from the St Paul's C of E Primary School together with local volunteers created the garden.
The website describes the garden in further detail:
'The Schools Garden is where school groups are able to get involved with practical horticulture - to grow and care for vegetables, fruits and flowers, herbs. Here, these young gardeners can experience the magic of sowing seeds, taking cuttings and propagating plants, right through to harvesting. Most of all, this is where the children can enjoy the experience of working outdoors.
The design for the Schools' Garden was inspired by the creative and sometimes radical design ideas of children at our school partner in the project. It incorporates a variety of hard-landscaping elements and artworks while maintaining a close connection with the natural landscape – the long grass areas, the established fruit and nut trees, the soil.
We are grateful to very many partners who have helped us make the Schools' Garden possible, through financial contributions and a lot of hard volunteer graft. We hope shortly to open up the Schools' Garden to the visiting public whenever a school is not actually in there working, as a demonstration growing plot.'
