This is one of many granite posts used to mark the "corner" points on the boundary lines between towns in Massachusetts, in this case, the Towns of Hamilton and Manchester. The letter "H" (for Hamilton) is engraved on one side, and "M" (for Manchester) is on the opposite side. It is about eight inches thick, 18 inches wide at the base, and three feet high. It is leaning at about a forty degree angle, with the "Hamilton" side facing up, and the "Manchester" side facing down.

To reach the marker, turn east off Route 22 onto Chebacco Road. About 0.6 mile past the end of the pavement, a low granite post marks the Hamilton-Manchester town line. From here follow an unmarked trail ENE into the woods. This trail skirts along the N side of a swamp. The marker is off the trail to the right, near the edge of the swamp, about 1/4 mile in from the road.

The next adjacent marker heading west is Hamilton-Manchester B, 0.1 mile.
The next adjacent marker heading east is Essex-Hamilton-Manchester, 0.2 mile.
