Salmon Run Clock/Bell Tower and Glockenspiel is located in downtown Vancouver at 6th & Columbia Street in the southeast corner of Esther Short Park, Washington state's oldest public square.
The bells were cast in the Netherlands and shipped to Vancouver for this impressive public artwork. Four five-foot bronze salmons "leap" off the tower as jets of water spray down the sides. A Chinook Indian story is inscribed in the basalt column around the base.
The highlight is its animated, three-scene glockenspiel depicting a Chinook Tribal legend which plays several times throughout the day, beginning at noon and every two hours thereafter until 4:00 p.m. The bells ring every hour from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
