UPDATE: January 2021. Ann's Chicken Fry has closed after nearly 50 years, due to the downturn from Covid-19. All the 1950's decor and displays have been removed. This pink Cadillac was removed by the Billboard Museum Association. It may become part of their neon sign display. We will update as time goes by to see what business opens at this location.
In 1948, this building at 4106 N.W. 39th Street on the west side of Oklahoma City, operated as a Cities Service station. It is located on the south side of Route 66, between Portland and Meridian.
Today, the building operates as Ann's Chicken Fry House, a popular restaurant with a 1950s decor, but it carries forward the "service station" ambiance with its outdoor displays. There are four vintage gas pumps, as well as a 1950s Police Car out front, and a 1950s pink Cadillac parked at the curb, bordered with pink neon. It is quite the place to see.
