The old fire engine belongs to the town of Dartmouth and to the church.
It was made in 1743 and was originally store in the South Porch. It attended its last shout in 1906. the engine was called out on this occasion to fight a fire in a local paint works. When it arrived at the scene of the fire it was found that the leather hosepipes had rotted and another fire engine from the nearby Britannia Royal Naval College was called out.
